1. Titanic 2. Dirty Dancing 3. Ghost 4. Reservoir Dogs 5. Any Pirate Of The Caribbean flick I have no opinion on the first three, as I have never watched them (chick flicks tend to be avoided purely on the basis they are chick flicks). The Pirates films I like. Reservoir Dogs though, I fully agree with you on, and am glad that someone actually agrees with me on this. (personally I'd also add the Kill Bill films, as I generally think Tarantino is overrated himself) Reservoir Dogs I like as a fun film. It's not high art. Kill Bill, though, I'll agree with both of you on. It's kinda a fun film, but it's one of those things were Tarantino couldn't decide on what he wanted to really do. It's like he threw everything he's ever seen from any Asian film onto the screen in an attempt to see what stuck.

Titanic : It's obvious. I shouldn't have to explain why on these boards. A boy. A girl. A sinking boat. Nausea for all. A movie only a girl could love (or a girly boy).[/quote] The Godfather : Hey, Italian stereotypes are a hoot, no doubt. And, I'm certain the acting in this is very good. But, overall? Call in Mopius, I agree. Personally, I think it's a great movie, but I don't think it's worthy of the countless accolades. Shaun of the Dead : A mediocre movie of a silly genre. While I love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, this movie doesn't quite know what it wants to be: horror? satire? parody? drama? romance? Clerks? Nah. Just don't get it. Hot Fuzz is the far superior movie in every way. (Sorry Joe! ) You are wrong. You should be hunted down and shot for this. (Sorry Prometheus!) Every Woody Allen movie ever made : If you like Woody Allen movies, then obviously we just disagree here. I'm sure Allen was witty and relevant for about ten minutes in the 1970's. I must have been asleep that day, though, because I cannot connect to it at all. It's as simple as that. He has a few good ones, but he's fallen into the trap of making too many. They've started to run into each other and blend into one big blog of mediocrity. Like I said, though, he has made a few exceptions to that rule. Spider-Man : The first one. The second one had some meat, and was fun to watch. The first one bored the blood from my ears. It was straight-up cardboard and playdough. After number three, I could only wish Marvel and Sony wouldn't embarrass themselves by trying for another one. Hopefully Tobey will see the ship's taking water and bail now. I totally agree and will raise you the second movie and all three X-Men movies. Totally overrated, all of them. Remove your Shaun of the Dead and throw in something like Citizen Kane (great but not the greatest) and your list is fine. Beatings will continue until Shaun of the Dead is removed, though.

5. The Bat-Man Begins: Great, but not that great. 4. From Dusk Till Dawn: You gotta be a b-film buff to enjoy it, I guess. 3. Revenge of the Sith: It's shocking how many people actually like it. 2. Lord of the Rings movies: Why won't they end? 1. Crash: YEAH, I GET IT. Shut up.

Titanic
Horrible movie, horrible song. It started the whole teenage girl empowerment marketing push bullshit. The Dark Knight still has a chance to knock it off its top spot. The day that happens should be a national holiday.
Crouching tiger, hidden dragon
Good god did this movie suck balls. My sister convinced me to see it and I hated every second. After wards she told me that I had to watch other kung fo movies to appreciate it. Any movie you have to lower your expectations for is a bad movie.
Dick Tracy
Saw it in the theaters when it first came out. Almost walked out. Boring and pointless crap.
The lord of the rings movies
Homoerotic gnomes are not entertaining.
Pirates of the Caribbean
Homoerotic pirates are not entertaining.

Homoerotic gnomes are not entertaining. so you had a regular literature review column on here but can't appreciate a supremely well-made adaptation of possibly the greatest epic in modern literature?

1. Most recent "horror" flicks. I went to see Saw 1; my pal and I (along with the rest of the cinema) were belly laughing the last half hour. Totally fucking atrocious. 2. Most recent "comedy" flicks. I prefer my humour a bit more clever and subtle. 3. Most recent "comic" flicks. The parody has been made, the genre is over. 4. The 5th Element; the only time I've walked out of the cinema. Even Lemmy couldn't save it 5. Chick flicks - apart from Charlie's Angels

Rex generally rates anything with 'dick' in the title pretty high. I think his disappointment in this film has to do with it not being what he expected.

Tom Hanks is an oddity for me, I can't stand him and actually like quite a few of his films well. Forrest Gump was surprisingly good, not great but pretty good. Lady Bugs was a really good pictures as well.

Lady Bugs was a really good pictures as well. I liked Hanks in Bachelor party, but then grew tired of his comedy roles (with the exception of Dragnet, but I liked that more for Aykroyd). I had no interest in kids films like Big and Toy Story, or the two chick flicks with the same plot (You've got mail and Sleepless in Seatle), but every now and again I enjoy one of his films. They tend though to be films when he has a decent cast surrounding him. Green Mile was great, and I loved Catch me if you can (even though DeCaprio is someone I dont normally like as well). Forest Gump is a film I have purposely avoided!
