I listed the big films, the ones that were so hyped up but failed at being anything.
Sixth Sense: not an aweful movie, just not that good. It plays slow, the characters are dull, the ending twist is the only clever idea but even that doesn't play well on second viewing.
Titanic: A bloated movie. The love story is really cheesy, the effects are big and pretty but overall just dressing. Cameron is great, and he works best with limited sources (Terminator, having to make 6 aliens look like hundreds in Aliens) or new technology (Abyss, T2). But here he just had too much money and power and didn't have to be creative.
Blair Witch Project: Just an aweful, boring movie. you can't improv horror, especially not with amateur actors. It got boring after the first few minutes of dialogue, and it got annoying when they were in the tents whining.
English Patient: Another aweful bloated film. Everything felt like it was just a set up to get some long whiny speech about life and love. It went on for too long, the ending was shit, and the Seinfeld episode was spot on to mock this movie.
Every Woody Allen Film: gotta agree that he makes shit movies. maybe it's because i didn't see them fresh, i saw them after humor had advanced a few decades, but the movies he makes going from Annie Hall to Matchpoint are just bad. the jokes aren't funny, the mysteries are shallow. He's just not that good.
