I have that "We Are the World" video on DVD, on the LIVE AID CONCERT dvd that was released in 2005 (on the 20th anniversary of the 1985 concert).

I wouldn't say it's the best concert DVD I've ever seen, but it's a great collection of music from the period, and a range of artists that haven't ever been on stage together before or since: Madonna, Queen, Elton John, Phil Collins, Spandau Ballet, Simple Minds, U-2, Nick Kershaw, Adam Ant, the Beach Boys, Crosby Stills and Nash...

The DVD is 10 hours of music (out of 18 hours when aired originally. A lot of footage is either lost or artists like Led Zeppelin didn't feel it was their best work, or releasing it on DVD was a violation of the one-time-ness of the event and those artists didn't authorize their inclusion). I picked it up a few years ago on e-bay for 15 bucks. Money well spent.

1) How's the rest of the album?

2) Have you heard Slash's new album? If so, how is it? Worth a blind buy?

3) OK, difficult one. I was driving around on Saturday, doing chores and whatnot. Heard a song on rock radio where the chorus goes, "I found someone...something something completes me...blah blah blah blah...and it's not you!!!" Chick singer, and I thought it might've been Lita (though I know I'm wrong). Any ideas?

1) The rest of the album is fucking great.

2) I downloaded the Slash album before it came out, and eve got hold of all 6 of the bonus songs, which are not available on one version as they are from different countries, ltd editions or iTunes.
Overall the album is very disapointing as it has a mix and match of singers of different styles, and rather than them adapt to Slash's style, he adapts to them.
The Kid Rock song sounds like something of Rock N Roll Jesus, the M Shadows song sounds like something off the last Avenged Sevenfold album etc etc.
Quite frankly, it could be pretty much anyone on guitar.
Some of the songs are really good (the above mentioned two are defo highlights for me) like the bonus song Sahara, which is probably the closest to being a Slash sounding song.
The remake of Paradise City (another bonus song) is fucking terrible, and Slash deserves to be shot for letting Cyprus Hill near it.
Fergie makes a pretty good showing though, but thats not really a surprise as she already showed her rock chops on the Shrek 3 soundtrack, with a cover of Barracuda.

Its not bad, its just not consistant enough and a bit too mix & match imo.
My advice is go out and get the new Ratt one in a few weeks, as that is fucking awesome.

3) A very easy one in fact, the song in question is called Its not you, and its the first song on the Halestorm album.
