Answer "YES" or "NO" to each of these. Then we will see where you and I sit, ideologically.

  • 1) Do you support bringing all of our American troops home so that they don't have to sacrifice themselves for corporate concerns like the securing of natural resources?

    2) Do you support ridding all corporate influence in Government?

    3) Do you support the closing of Guantanamo Bay?

    4) Do you support the eradication of the illegal "Patriot" Act, which violates the Constitution?

    5) Do you support American's right to protest Government corruption, and the role corporate money plays?

    6) Do you support the need to find a way to make medicine cheaper and to break the stranglehold of pharmaceutical companies on this nation and our government?

    7) Term-limits for Congress: Should there be some?

    8) If a person came along that had the best interest of the United States in his heart, and was willing and capable of improving our conditions of life, would you support him if he ran under the Democratic, Libertarian, or Independent banner?

    9) Do you support equal rights for all creeds, color, races, and sexes?

    10) If Obama was a Republican, would it change your mind about him? Be honest, man.

Remember: Yes or No.

I don't want to hear "Soros-this", "Socialist-that", or any of the rants you're so known for. I'd like simple yes-or-no answers. If you can't do that, explain why.

Oh, and try to be honest, objective, and not so angry about it. Just act like you don't know me...

I'll reserve the right to answer (or not) this loaded exercise of yours later.

I suspect that no matter what my answers, you would twist them to suit your agenda, or simply to troll me.

And if you want to see "angry" just look at your own posts. Only a few others on the Left here even approach your level of personal attacks and vindictiveness.

Come on, man. What's it going to hurt to just answer the questions? This isn't a "trap" and I won't condemn you for your answers. But, until I know where you sit, I can't begin to try and meet you in the middle.

This is something of an olive branch...

No, I promise. I won't "twist" anything. I'll probably have follow-up questions, but I have no intent in this thread other than to understand your stance a little better.

Sorry to interrupt your honeymoon, guys, but I have a super serial question.

It's that war about natural resources, I keep hearing it as a criticism of the war America is currently trying to fight overseas (the most popular one being "war for oil" or some other variation), but I don't see it.

Either the Americans are really doing badly or there's something I'm missing about how these things work? How do you get the oil from those countries? I mean, it's not like you're actually just going there and taking the oil. I don't see any oil drums being brought back, for one thing.

Bonus Question: What is the deal with airline food?

My answer: The normal practice of the US is to invade countries in the name of "freedom" and/or "democracy", still trying to pass off the 70-year-old WWII 'Calvary'-ideal. Once the country has been "freed", they install puppet regimes that are loyal to US corporations, but appear to the rest of the world (and is usually reported by the media) as a "democratically elected government", or whatnot. That way, they can continue to fool those gullible enough to believe the US is this lily-white paragon of virtue and morality, trumpeting Human Rights, all the while ignoring those countries that consistently break said rights on their own people if they are "allies" and/or have resources the corporations want (i.e. China). Once installed, these puppet governments will facilitate US foreign interest in their region, circumventing international laws without it ever tracking back to the White House. Thus, the power-play against the Saudi's stranglehold on Middle East oil continues.

Bonus: Airline food is made up of sweat shop children's tears and the remnants of the US Constitution...

We attacked all those countries in the middle east to overthrow their corrupt governments. We had hoped that they would give us oil for doing so but that looks like its not going to happen. We didn't go in demanding it, we just hoped it would work out that way.

There's a lot of different ways to see what happened but I think that is the closest to the truth that I can find but I'm not someone who goes and shits on police cars thinking its a valid political statement.

... which Pro can't answer.

Honestly, no one with the 'Blood for Oil' chants can. If we just invade countries with oil we want, why the fuck haven't we rolled into Venezuela?

An even more impossible question to answer.

Because the US has to make it seem like it's saving a country from their "evil tyrant", otherwise it's not only domestic political suicide, it gets the world on our back. Easily avoided in an easily misunderstood region of the world like the Middle East. Chavez & co. have ties to the western world, far more than the Middle Eastern culture. Also, to Cuba, which has ties to Russia, which is someone the US still plays carefully with. Not to mention, going and bombing the Middle East to pieces seems to be something we're good at. Everytime we head towards South America, it's Bay of Pigs and Cuban Missile Crisis. Not something Americans would politically stand behind, based on historical evidence. If we're to take out Chavez and the regime therein, we'll do it with subterfuge and CIA ops. Not just outright "roll in".

No matter what you believe, asking "Why not INSERT COUNTRY?" does in no way invalidate or dismiss the truth of my answer. That's like saying, "If they can cure Small Pox, why not cancer?"
