You are speculating that Ivanna Trump was bought off with a lot of money, but the fact is, she retracted her story, Trump and Ivanna are friends, and she did write the introduction to one of Trump's books just a few years after the fact.
As for your flip-around scenario, Trump is I think understanding of Ivanna's vindictiveness because he wronged her, having and affair, divorcing Ivanna, and marrying Marla Maples, that for a while angered her. And she did retract the story. Even if she had not retracted it, there is still not evidence that it occurred. At the peak of the allegations it was still only he said/she said.
