It is not capitalism that is failing, it is the liberal-Democrat/socialist undermining of our free-market democracy that is causing the failures.
Specifically, the pressure to give millions of home loans to unqualified borrowers that Barney Frank, Maxine Waters ACORN, and other Democrats pushed for, that Democrats rammed forward, as Republicans pushed for stricter lending standards (i.e., free market practices that would have prevented the failures of imposed liberal social engineering). In 2004-2005
Republicans to a man pushed for stricter lending practices, while a Democrat majority along party lines called them evil heartless meanies and kept the practices in place that collapsed the system through Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac in 2008.
And yet the Democrats who caused it (with the able assitance of the pro-Obama media) ironically blamed the collapse on the Republicans, and their propagaanda won the 2008 election for Obama and the Democrats. And enabled Dodd, Obama and Barney Frank to perpetuate and deepen the cracks in the system that they blamed on the Republicans!
(I concede that both parties --Greenspan, Bernanke, Republicans in congress not pushing back more aggressively-- had some hand in the collapse, but Republicans have taken a disproportionate share of the blame, and these Democrats --who are continuing the same Fannie/Freddie practices and subsidies of inefficiency that caused the meltdown in the first place-- have gotten a free pass, even as they push us toward an even greater economic meltdown)
